About Neil_ Ready
A professional, motivated and effective leader, specialising in the management and command of high-risk and critical incidents. I am an experienced leader, who has demonstrated the ability to effectively lead people in complex andchallenging environments. I have led teams of up to 80 people, providing welfare support, professional development and mentoring and coaching to a range of staff and officers. I have demonstrated the ability to transform teams into highly effective units, capable of delivering the required mission, including the resolution of significant and critical incidents as well as the investigation of crime. My area of expertise has been the command of firearms incidents where I have experience at both the operational and tactical levels. This is often based on minimal information, where I have had to effectively resource and plan tactical operations at a Force level. I have received several commendations for my actions from Chief Officers and senior leaders. I have worked with partners to deliver innovative technology into the force. I have experience in delivering change programmes within the Force. I have recently developed and delivered an innovativeresource allocation model, utilising the crime harm index. I am a mentor and coach. I am actively mentoring staff in the force to build depth in the organisation, supporting them to achieve their goals. As part of a previous role, I was qualified to deliver the College of Policing National Initial Tactical Firearms Commanders course. A proud veteran of the British Army (Royal Green Jackets) I am part of the executive committee for the Kent Police Armed Forces Network and have recently qualified as an Armed Forces Service Champion. I continue to work to inspire veterans to join Kent Police as well as develop and support veterans already in the force. Recently diagnosed as Autistic, I am looking to gain an understanding of the challenges this has brought to myself and others with Neuro-Diverse conditions. I am an adaptable, proven decision-maker who can effectively manage and reduce risk. I am a strong leader who puts the welfare of his teams at the forefront, to effectively deliver the mission.
