I act as the single point of contact between the delivery team’s and the Infrastructure Services Department. Member of a resolver group for any unplanned activities that would cause detrimental effects to the HMRC estate.To act as a liaison between all the teams involved in designing, developing, implementing and supporting office infrastructure hardware products (servers, workstations, laptops, switches). I have in depth knowledge of the products installed within the Revenue and Customs and provide training to implementation engineers. Develop installation documentation to support the engineer on site and with constant updates via Hot Tips. We test and pilot new office infrastructure hardware products, both in-house and externally to prove the products. Our team also undertake small specialist projects from start to finish. We can provide workstation build development facilities and have capability to design, develop, code and produce small user base applications and toolsets.

Held a position within the Release Management team, the primary role of this team is to cover the overall planning and co-ordination of all changes to the 82,500 workstations in the live Inland Revenue operational environment. During future planned release meetings a project would agree the change requirements with the customer the project would engage with a Release Manager to book the slot on the release database; this would be done via a Release Schedule Questionnaire. As the RM for the project I would liaise with various teams within the Release Schedule to plan the release in order to meet the required live implementation date. I would then create the release slot and issue a Release Identifier. Once the code has been handed over by the development team I would then engage the other teams in the life cycle and manage that release through testing and possible pilot before the full live roll out. Creation and maintaining of statistical reporting on software releases and problem and issue reporting. Maintaining the infrastructure release schedule of software changes affected the whole Inland Revenue estate. Meeting with key stakeholders in projects to give daily, weekly or monthly updates on any given project and acting as the point of contact for the projects that were specifically assigned to me.
