I am a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and data management professional with 18 years experience of providing location-based intelligence solutions in local government. I lead a team of GIS professionals tasked with developing tools and solutions that focus the power of organisational data towards specific service priorities and which, in turn, deliver insight that facilitates improvements in service delivery. Working across the organisation in partnership with service managers, I support colleagues in identifying service needs and develop opportunities to meet those needs via productive innovation in the use of data and the analytical and representational concepts and tools that extract value from it. This is achieved primarily via the use of the ESRI suite of ArcGIS software products, supported by other non-spatial relational databases.My core work areas currently include:• Development of inward- and outward-facing web-based interactive mapping applications• Development of a digital 3D city model for Leeds• Implementation of an organisation-wide GIS strategy review• Development of organisational data management and data governance strategies• Studying for a Chartered Management Degree via an apprenticeship
