Led an executive team of sales, operations and customer service directors and the finance function.Managed 55 to 80 staff, depending on development cycle and acquisitions.• Transformed the company from a DOS based software and network supplier to the construction sector into a Windows based specialist application developer for transport and related industries. • Grew market share from nothing to include one third of the top one hundred transport companies.• Grew new markets in Netherlands and South Africa by company acquisition and partnerships, plus winning >15 new accounts in each.• Built revenue stream for SaaS product from launch to over £300k per month in three years. • Retained staff (turnover <3%) due to positive, open culture, development, empowerment and engaging leadership.Brand and product development- Built a ‘Challenger brand’ in Transport Management Software (TMS) and developed from 5 existing transport clients to a third of the market.- Developed telematics product, aimed at the same market (200 customers), then engine management products and handheld scanners.Market growth and company acquisition- Set up successful Joint Venture to enter the Dutch market.- Launched workshop software in South African market via a company acquisition.- Used acquisition of TMS competitor to rapidly expand customer base. - Acquired telematics company to add electronic engineering expertise. - Bought a document image processing company as an extension to an existing product.People developmentSet up in-house developer school as a solution to the shortage of skilled developers in particular programming languages.
