Engineering Manager

• Developing, implementing, managing and improving key business processes including Lean Management, Sales & Operational Planning and Tactical Business Planning to ensure process robustness and improved company performance against strategic objectives• Support Senior Managers in developing strategic business plans by developing joined up departmental strategic and tactical plans. Report on progress of these plans to the Senior Management • Driving key tactical cost saving initiatives and reporting against established Key Process Indicators • Risk management and mitigation prior to order receipt to maximise lead time potential• Actively participating in working groups to deliver continuous Improvement projects and activities• Managing on-going risks, issues and change management within the organisation Forming a key part of the Value Stream Managers responsible for ensuring tactical sales forecasts are met on a monthly & quarterly basis• Developing and implementing departmental procedures such as Bill of Material structures, Change Control Management and Design Validation and Verification ensuring compliance to ISO 9001:2008• Effective delegation of operational tasks • Providing leadership and motivational management to direct reports including setting and monitoring of personal objectives, mentoring and coaching, monitoring staff performance, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying competency gaps and training requirements• Identifying, providing and facilitating solutions to engineering and technical problems • Developing technical capability within the team • Establishing systems and communications from Sales and Projects teams to enable planning and scheduling of engineering works and effective resource planning• Key contributor to the customer order Contract Reviews including reviewing technical specifications, managing product cost and enabling project milestones to be met• Managing a team of 10 people
