I'm an ex-international rugby player & an experienced elite coach, holding all necessary qualifications. I remain incredibly passionate about the game that gave me so much. Prior to playing professional rugby, I worked in the financial sector for 9 years and that's where I find myself now, proud to be back in the industry responsible for business development at an insurance company and also a new field, visual communications for one of the UK's leading retail, property & construction site brand display providers. Also, in 2017 I found myself lured back into health and fitness and co-founded www.back2fitness.co which is a web based platform which supplies exercise & nutrition programs for individual and corporate wellness.During my rugby career I played for 2 years at Nottingham RFC followed by 15 years at Leicester Tigers as well as for England & the British and Irish Lions, during which time I was lucky enough to win every competition in the Northern Hemisphere, including Premierships, Heineken Cups, a British & Irish Lions Test Series and a Rugby World Cup.Following my playing career, I've coached with Leicester Tigers, Leeds Carnegie, Rugby Lions & Edinburgh Rugby. In 2013, after playing &/or coaching senior rugby for 25 years I decided to prioritise my family and explored other opportunities where I could apply the knowledge & expertise I had throughout my career to other fields within the public and corporate world. This is when I joined Champions UK plc who have helped build my brand through securing work within media, public speaking & brand ambassadorial roles. If you read my books, you will see that a big part of my journey has been overcoming adversity & believing in my ability when others might not. I like to share this experience when speaking to companies & organisations to help them with their team-building & leadership development programmes.For as long as I can remember, I've always been passionate about cars, from road cars to F1, & I'm fortunate to be an ambassador for Rybrook Cars, a prestige car company in the UK. I've always worked hard & have achieved a lot, but I have also been lucky in life, so I try to give back by giving any spare time I have to my chosen charities: Midlands Air Ambulance, Forever Stars and Homeless Rugby.

They were being rebranded as The Rugby Football Club 2011 Ltd and had an ambitious plan to take the club, the birthplace of the sport up through the divisions to the top table of English rugby. For those involved in that incredible year they will understand the incredible achievement on the field against all the odds. We steered the club to winning 26 out 26 league games securing automatic promotion & winning 5 out of 5 games to lift the domestic cup. This experience was the inspiration for my second book 'The Death of Rugby'.

I went from Nottingham to Leicester and that is where my career played out over an 18 year time period. In my early playing career larger backrow forwards were preferred by the England coaches and I was smaller and more mobile, you could say tenacious. The Leicester coaches, players and supporters believed in me and my ability and through their support and my own work ethic and determination I managed to be involved with Leicester through the most successful period in the club's history. These successes led to me being selected for England, The Barbarians and The British and Irish Lions. I was lucky enough to win many trophies and accolades including Premiership Titles, Heineken Cups, a Lions Test Series and the Rugby World Cup.Following my international retirement from playing I went on to coach at the club for 5 years until I left for a Head Coach role at Leeds Carnegie.The whole Leicester experience taught me a huge amount about work ethic, developing a winning culture, agility, teamwork, leadership, winning, losing and over-coming adversity and how to pick yourself and your teammates up after serious set-backs. I developed the skill of not giving up and being resilient and I owe a debt of gratitude to the club and to my friends and family for helping me to learn those lessons. -
