Orbis Consulting builds elegantly simple and bankable financial models for a wide variety of clients in the energy and infrastructure spaces, including development companies, banks, and equity funds. Our clients usually need to streamline diligence processes to speed funding results. Orbis consultants have built sophisticated tax equity models and used linear optimization algorithms to optimize large, interconnected debt portfolios. At Orbis, I work as a modeler, model auditor, project manager, originator, and teacher for a variety of energy and infrastructure project finance modelling assignments. I also advise clients on negotiating their best deals, either in the debt/equity or M&A spaces.Recent Orbis engagements include:A.) Completed a deal model for the acquisition of 3 operational utility scale solar projects. Orbis was called in at the bottom of the ninth inning, after several other consultants had failed, to help get the deal over the line;B.) Orbis is working as the outsourced quantitative department for a development team evaluating 7-10 M&A opportunities in the power space, including large portfolios of BESS, solar, wind, and combined cycle assets;C.) We created modeling platforms for two large developers of battery storage projects - these platforms aggregated sophisticated tax equity capable project models into corporate portfolios;D.) We helped model a TX-based toll road's exit from bankruptcy, securing Deal Of The Year acclaim.

Director

Los Angeles, Ca, Us

I joined the investment bank Houlihan Lokey to create a new financial modelling service line, Financial Modelling as a Service (FMS), within their valuation practice. FMS sought to put the power of high quality financial modelling into the hands of key decision makers in private equity and corporations. FMS espoused the principals of flexibility, transparency, and forthright presentation in all the models we built. Our group leveraged Houlihan's extensive relationships to help clients tell clearer stories to key financial stakeholders using the medium of Excel. We did so in three ways: 1.) financial model training; 2.) model validation; 3.) model build and consulting.I was primarily responsible for developing the product internally, establishing client relationships, training staff, and delivering the final product. We were engaged to build models for corporate funds (Generate Capital) and a variety of corporates in the health care, entertainment, and manufacturing spaces. We also conducted training classes for the Yale School of Management and Clean Capital. We provided model reviews for a wide variety of time sensitive deal models.
