After many years of working in a purchasing role at UCLA I decided to shake things up. I had always considered myself to be a people person and I was not able to fulfill this natural personality trait in that career path. Fortunately, this change occurred while I was in pursuit of my MBA. I was able to shift my focus and hone my interpersonal skills by selecting the concentration of Organizational Leadership. This decision lead to a whole new approach on how I can be an asset to a company, and how I find happiness and career satisfaction. While in school I was fortunate enough to be selected for a internship project with the United Nations Development Programme. In this internship, I would be acting as a consultant researching the viability of impact investing as a replacement for grant based social actions. This internship paired with my first independent consulting job with a Los Angeles based clothing retail company taught me two things. One, change is critical to development in both the personal and professional worlds, and two, I have a natural ability to develop relationships with a goal centered focus. Both of these opportunities showed me that I made the right decision to break from my comfort zone. In doing this I was able to assist with major change initiatives, and I found a new professional passion. Change management has become a major focus of my daily activities and I enjoy assisting others transform into a more streamlined version of their old selves. In staying true to the theme centered in change, I recently I decided to relocate back to the Pacific Northwest, where I had spent my childhood, in hopes of continuing this professional and personal growth. I am currently seeking opportunities to advance my career while providing my skill set to a company within the Portland area.
