£100 million turnover NHS Joint VentureUpon appointment I initiated and led the due diligence review of the joint venture governance and commercial frameworks and the service consolidation business case. The recommendations from this review resulted in the termination of the proposed operating model, dissolution of the existing Empath Board and eliminated significant financial and service risks. The due diligence review provided the credibility to gain the support of the Boards of the owner NHS Trusts to lead the development of strategic, outline and full business cases. Alongside the development of these business cases I continued to provide operational leadership and support to sustain and improve services provided by the owner Trusts. The full business case was recognised by the regulator, NHS Improvement, through the award of Pathfinder status and adoption of many of the recommendations and content within the national policy for pathology networks. The outcome of the full business case was the formation of a 9 Trust pathology network with the potential for greatly increased quality and financial improvement compared to the original 2 Trust joint venture model.Following the dissolution of the 2 Trust joint venture and establishment of the 9 Trust pathology network, I provided strategic support to one of the owner Trusts by leading the development of their digital business strategy, successfully renegotiating improved pricing and terms for a major long-term managed equipment service contract and developing a business case and negotiating contract terms and pricing for the laboratory information management system.I led the design and implementation of business intelligence solutions and consolidation of hundreds of millions of transaction data records into a data store to present a single version of the truth.Efficiency improvements of over 5% were delivered each year.
