As a Research Assistant within the Department of Geography and the Byrd Polar Research Center, I secured a number of grants (including NASA funding) to pursue two key research projects:Quelccaya: Mapping change (using satellite and aerial photography) in Peru's Quelccaya Ice Cap to contribute to water resource management plans in the region. This research also involved spatial & statistical analysis of atmospheric CO2 data from Quelccaya Ice Cores collected by the department.Antarctica: From GPS data collected in the field I created the first surface model - using spatial statistics - of the area around South Pole Station.
