I am the most senior member of the team and formerly Head of Department. I have also been responsible for the development of the private client division of the firm. My main areas of activity include difficult financial cases arising from divorce, complex cases involving children, collaborative law and mediation, both civil and family. I have a special interest and experience in high net worth cases (divorce and mediation), as well as complicated children matters. I am often acting against top London firms and regularly appear in the High Court. My primary focus however is always to look for a constructive solution and avoid unnecessary conflict. My approach is generally respected by my peers and the majority of my work is referred to me by fellow solicitors, barristers and judges.I am a Resolution accredited mediator and am a member of its training committee. I was previously on the Skills and Support Working Party of Resolution and was involved in the production of the book and DVD 'Managing Difficult Divorce Relationships.' I regularly put together training programmes for fellow lawyers.My expertise is recognised by many independent sources. Chambers Legal Directory( including the 2019 edition) has for many years named me as one of the leading family lawyers in the whole of the South of England. As well as negotiating court based divorce settlements I was also one of the first mediators to specialise in multi million pound settlements.
