I have the joy of working in a full-time role at Athene, managing multiple large and complex projects. This brings a blend of team facilitation, quality whiteboard drawings, detailed math-based models, interaction with many great "build" teams, all in a driven-yet-fun environment.

As a consultant project manager / utility player, I am currently leading an activity that brings multiple organizations and systems together, blending data activity and people / process work into a cohesive program in support of a multi-asset-class financial platform. In the hybrid environment, this involves multi-location “whiteboard” facilitation, estimation, and execution towards plan.

In a consulting role, I had the joy of leading a project team that moved systems, processes, and people from a legacy platform to a new vendor with a cloud-based solution. Beyond traditional project management, this opportunity included organizational change management, training, and support. This activity crossed multiple time zones, financial jurisdictions, and thorough audit / controls review.

This consulting assignment provided the opportunity to set up the infrastructure for a large program devoted to large transformational change. Significant objectives of the program include streamlining manual processes and reducing the pain of integration points that have naturally appeared through years of business mergers and acquisitions. The program role included staffing, metrics analysis, and establishing best practices across the organization.

This consulting assignment involved being the primary project manager for several individual work streams tied to a large partnership transaction as well as serving as the program manager to connect the work of individual streams. This activity included multiple US locations and several international business and development centers. Each work stream delivered on time and within budget, providing value to the respective stakeholders. As a bonus, this engagement also offered the opportunity to assist with several smaller efforts within the organization. This was a very positive experience for all involved.

In this consulting assignment, I led the inception and solution design phase for a new product development project that included multiple internal organization teams as well as a national organizational partner and numerous vendors. Although in the inception phase, this activity included building a baseline build and full state-specific deployment plan. By design, this effort was done with the intent of transitioning the project to an internal project management team.

This role provided the opportunity to assist a client with implementing best practices tied to large system / process improvement deployment while simultaneously providing training and support to several client team members to allow them to move forward with future development and deployment activities.

In this engagement as a consulting project manager I had the opportunity to lead the deployment of a large package-based software solution for insurance policy administration and associated activities. Beyond simple technology improvements, the team implemented substantial business-based process improvements and improved legal compliance. This effort included a team of approximately five hundred people across multiple geographic locations and an investment of over one million hours. This was part of a multi-million dollar commitment that ultimately provided an improved experience for thousands of stakeholders ranging from individual agents / brokers to line-level support staff.

I enjoyed this engagement as a consulting project manager responsible for the development and national deployment of numerous pricing sophistication tools, new company and product development, product simplification, and rules-based decision-making to 40+ states. This role was a wonderful blend of math-based project management, Agile line work, business requirements, business process improvement, state bureau interaction, and team facilitation that produced excellent results for the client.

In a consulting role, assisting a national property and casualty provider with the implementation of an Organizational Change Management strategy in conjunction with several large IT / business projects. This included technical and team usage of numerous change management tools and processes, stakeholder analysis work, risk realization assessments and team facilitation and training.

In a consulting role, assisting a national financial services organization with building a multi-year technology and business implementation roadmap. This includes identification of goal state vision, gaps, constraints, resource costs and projected staffing models.

Created the deliverable templates and actively participated in the creation of the first deliverable set. Led the executive guidance team that oversaw this effort and helped to put in place the estimation, project control and risk and issue process that became the standard used by other projects within the program
