Head Of Professional Services
PFSweb acquired Conexus in mid 2016. Through this acquisition my role has remained as Head of Professional Services for the Hybris practice in EMEA.PFS is a leading Global Commerce Service Provider in a range of technologies, and enables brands and retailers to achieve and exceed their commerce goals. Globally, we have great experience in combining integrated technologies, professional services, and a worldwide network of systems and logistics infrastructure to deliver customized solutions for leading retailers and brands. My role means that I am engaged through a large proportion of the lifecycle of all of our Hybris projects. Starting with sales, on to delivery and all the way to managed services. In sales I am involved in customer presentations, helping to understand high level scope and requirements, providing initial estimates, costs and margin projections, building project plans and defining contracts. Delivery is my main focus and I am involved in resourcing, financial forecasting, providing customer escalation and have overall responsibility for the Project Management, Development, Infrastructure and Testing Teams. The managed services team also reports to me, and it's key that we maintain good customer relationships with proactive monitoring and speedy issue resolution to SLA.

I liaise with the Technical Architect and Consultancy Practice Manager to ensure that the requirements gathered are clear and a viable technical solution exists. My team comprises Project Managers, Developers and Testers. Senior Ecommerce Consultant
Java Web Applications Developer
Morpheus was a small company providing eCommerce solutions to a wide variety of markets and organisations. They were an IBM business partner and worked predominantly with IBM products such as Websphere, Websphere Portal and Websphere Commerce. As lead developer on several J2EE projects I was in a customer facing role, spending time on site, gathering requirements and discussing designs, and was given free rein to implement solutions in the way that I felt best supported the client’s needs.During this time the major project I was involved with was a web based front end for an online banking system. This system used JSF, JSP, HTML and CSS for the front end, communicating with a third party back end banking engine via stateless session bean(EJB) and web services layers. We wrote our own JSF components and phase listeners to speed up development and add critical functionality. On top of this we used Spring for configuration pieces, and Hibernate for database access.Morpheus was one of 26 suppliers on this project, so clear communication skills were vital, and I was involved in regular client meetings, both on and off site. Other projects I worked on in this time included portlet applications, eCommerce work, and some in-house development of Eclipse/RAD plug-ins.
Java Team Leader/Architect
As the team leader of the web product I was responsible for three developers. My role encompassed team management, developing and unit testing, mentoring new team members and elements of architecture and design.I had overall responsibility for the source code and quality of each delivery, and also managed the CVS repositoryDuring this period I oversaw the end of a major redesign of the application architecture to better support customer requested bespoke enhancements. The approach taken gave technical consultants the ability to extend or alter application behaviour by adding their own code modules on top of the core development release. I also managed the transition from using traditional technologies such as JSP/Servlet towards more easily maintainable, agile technologies such as Velocity to generate HTML.I also took charge of the technical direction of all major developments for the Debt Manager Web product; a financial application dealing with the collection and recovery of debt typically used by large banking, mortgage and telecoms clients with large distributed call centres. At the front-end the product made use of modern browser features such as AJAX (specifically the ‘prototype’ and ‘behaviour’ libraries). The back-end was built around Struts, and we moved away from generic mapping layers, to use a bespoke caching framework and Data Access Objects calling specific SQL statements to boost performance.
Java Developer
After spending two years cross training to Java in my own time, I took the opportunity to move to the web version of the Debt Manager product. I worked on the existing variant of Debt Manager Web, and was involved in making architectural changes, leading bespoke client work, and maintenance.
Senior 2E Developer
I worked as a senior developer on the green screen variant of the Debt Manager product using Cool/2e (case tool). My responsibilities in this role included design, coding and unit testing. I was also chosen as one of two developers for a special projects taskforce to improve the overall batch performance.
Analyst/2E Developer
My role at Triangle was as an Analyst Programmer involved in full development lifecycle from requirements gathering, database design changes, coding and unit testing, through to implementation. This work was mostly carried out on client site for Toyota GB using Cool/2e.
Graduate Trainee/2E Developer
I started in a Graduate Trainee Programme that provided experience in a variety of roles – customer services, QA, and finally, development. Most of the development was using Cool/2e working on a bespoke wholesale finance software product.
