We acquire and renovate small multifamily properties ($3M to $10M purchase price) in the Inland Empire and in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon and Salem, Oregon. I am responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinance transactions, along with investor relations and portfolio analysis.Our family has been in the residential rental business since the early 1980s with purely organic, self-funded portfolio growth since then. During my time at TruAmerica I was responsible for:- Underwriting for value-add multifamily assets in the western US- Market research to gain insight into the competitive landscape and project cashflows- Creating investment committee reports/memos for internal review by senior executives- Researching & building investor memos for institutional capital partners- Working with lenders and a multitude of third parties close transactions- Working hand in hand with institutional equity partners during due diligence and closing

During my summer internship I performed market research using primary & secondary sources to gather data that I used in various acquisition models for both on & off market transactions. These financial models were fully dynamic, utilized both Excel & Argus, and were used in both presentations to senior management and to make final round offers. Additionally, I created the Argus projection for a 1M SF office campus from the annual budget for our equity partner.

I joined On Deck as their first in-house software engineer with the goal of moving into a more business focused role. I quickly took over ownership of all customer acquisition development and took more managerial responsibilities as I hired more people for my team. I then expanded my scope to lead underwriting and data analytics development. In mid-2012 I sought a new challenge and moved internally to oversee three initiatives: automation, infrastructure, and our core lending portal helpdesk. I resigned in 2013 to pursue my MBA.

At Lehman, I played a key role in reengineering the core trading application used to trade $30 BB in daily volume of short-term debt. I was fully responsible for the entire lifecycle of building the e-trading component of that application. I worked closely with users (FNMA/FHLMC and corporate bond traders), researched requirements, designed the architecture, built the platform, and developed the test plan necessary for this feature. Additionally, I was the team liaison for our global fixed income infrastructure committee and a number of external third parties. As others on our small team resigned, I took over numerous other extra responsibilities and taught myself what I needed to know. I resigned in August of 2008 a few weeks before the bankruptcy to join a small firm with the intention of moving into a less technical and more business focused role.
