Strategic Consultant
I worked with the Global IT Director of Subsea 7 on technology integration as part of the business merger between Subsea 7 and Acergy. The initial phase of the project was completed in January this year.I provided advice on the overall technology integration strategy and approach, and with the local team managed the integration project through to successful merger. The challenge was technically complex and time demanding with the end objective to create a seamless IT service for the newly merged company. The Getronics team and I have also been in the process of completing a complex global server virtualisation and shared service hosting project using Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualisation technology. These recent project successes have led to further phases currently underway. I supplied Subsea 7 with a roadmap for 2011, including designs for a completely new Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Microsoft Lync 2010 environment for the new company.
Technical Architect
I built on my experience at Barclays by accepting an invitation to join the small team initiating the Shared Service Centre (SSC) Programme for Associated British Foods as the Technical Architect. I was tasked with architecting the entire SSC in partnership with ABF staff. The goal of the SSC was to host the IT infrastructure of 14 of ABF's businesses. My direct responsibilities were the architecture, design, and implementation of the SSC. This was completed in 6 months, and my next achievement was architecting the migration strategy, staffing and managing the teams and devising the tools and processes to make migrating the 14 IT infrastructures (6000 users) to the SSC possible, and continually revising and improving those processes as migrations progressed . After 12 months, migration is close to 50% complete, and the processes and teams have matured to a point that I have been able to exit the programme.
Senior Technical Consultant
Spend five months with Microsoft via the Getronics Gold Partner programme collaborating on the Getronics workspace deployment portfolio, then with Barclays as outsourcing partner on the DSMPII Programme. My workstream was tasked with the architecture, design and implementation of SMS 2003, MOM 2005, XP and Win 2003 images, GPOs and automated image delivery, anti-virus and patch management. These products were built in 4 environments to cover development, integration, testing and production, to support 30,000 users.
