COMMUNITY Recently appointed as one of the members of the Environmental Advisory Committee of Brampton. Appointed as one of two public members of the Peel Region Audit and Risk Committee, December 2018. As the other public member was an Accountant, I focused on Risk including environmental/climate change. I resigned February 2022 for family health reasons.ENVIRONMENTALVolunteer work primarily with an environmental focus:1) Advocacy, I attended the Climate Reality training delivered by Al Gore in Toronto. I am now prepared to deliver discussions and presentations on the need to act driven by climate change and the options we have available. I have begun by targeting secondary schools, Grades 10/11. Recognised the need to provide best practices in the operation of MS technologies, I proposed and got agreement to the development of the Microsoft Operations Framework and became the MOF Product Manager with global responsibilities. Since MOF was based on ITIL which had a low profile in the USA, I joined the Board of the US National Chapter of the itSMF and launched the national conference series in 2001. MOF won the itSMF Innovation Award for 2000. A key innovation was the MOF Risk Model which was not originally in ITIL.I delivered the opening general session, "Computer Operations: The Challenges Of The Turn Of The Century" at AFCOM's 1999 Fall Conference in Las Vegas. Following this, and the attendee ratings that I received, I was invited to join the Advisory Board of the Data Center Institute, the think tank that AFCOM sponsor.Prior to initiating MOF, I was recruited into Microsoft by the Microsoft Global CIO to represent him in the Corporate Account Technical Marketing Team. They deliver the sessions at the Executive Briefing Centre at the corporate HQ in Redmond. My role was to show how MS technologies could be integrated together, with MS IT as the example. Following MOF I moved to World Wide Services to become the Senior Manager - New Offerings, Premier Services.
