COMMUNITY Recently appointed as one of the members of the Environmental Advisory Committee of Brampton. Appointed as one of two public members of the Peel Region Audit and Risk Committee, December 2018. As the other public member was an Accountant, I focused on Risk including environmental/climate change. I resigned February 2022 for family health reasons.ENVIRONMENTALVolunteer work primarily with an environmental focus:1) Advocacy, I attended the Climate Reality training delivered by Al Gore in Toronto. I am now prepared to deliver discussions and presentations on the need to act driven by climate change and the options we have available. I have begun by targeting secondary schools, Grades 10/11. Also, I was a member of the Citizens Climate Lobby which advocates for the Fee and Dividend approach which ensures that while the full costs of carbon dioxide emissions are captured working people are not penalized.2) Canadian Association of Management Consultants, I set up and chaired the Special Interest Group on Energy & Climate Change for its first three years.3) Ontario Sustainable Energy Association, I assisted with content marketing strategy, research and articles including:-“M'Chigeeng First Nation's ground-breaking success story” Community Energy Update - July 2011, Issue 1-“A Practical Point of View On Sustainable Energy”Community Energy Update - June 2011, Issue 2-Summaries of the Kris Stevens interviews with political parties in Ontario including Brad Duguid, Mike Schreiner and Peter Tabuns.4) Contributions to WakulatLaw Blog -"Green Energy Ontario 2.0: Community Power" November 3, 2011-"What is the Net Value of Renewable Energy?"July 24, 2011-“Follow The Money: The Carbon Disclosure Project”April 18, 2011-“Turn Signals”January 23, 2011SERVICE MANAGEMENT Examiner of the first North American courses for the Executive certification (Consultant/Manager) in IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000.
