Led and directed development of all technical policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for the interconnection of customer load and distributed energy resource (DER) projects and strategically influenced the need for these technical policies regionally (i.e. within NY, MA, and RI) as well as nationally. Ensured National Grid’s compliance to regulatory tariffs and company standards. Responsible for asset strategy on retail interconnection activities and assurance of those policies, practices, and standards within electric asset management and with other National Grid groups were in compliance with regulated customer energy integration processes. Supported advancement of National Grid’s agenda in respective jurisdictions as relates to Connect 21 initiatives (NY REV, MA GridMod, RI Docket 4600/SIRI). Met the rapidly changing needs of National Grid’s customers, reflecting guidance of NY, MA, and RI regulators, while optimizing the return on investment integrating DER to the electric power system that are innovative, safe, reliable, and efficient. Restructured engineering staff retaining 3 and transferring 21 plus vacancies to the Distribution Planning & Asset Management groups.
