It is a sector I had spent 4 years researching and participating at an industry level, culminating in being elected President of the Australian Car Wash Industry in 2017. It's a fascinating industry locally and globally with what I believe to be great upside and application for my skill set. I spent mid 2016 to Feb 2020 managing Titanium Wash in Bunbury in which I had a significant direct investment (divested Jan 22). This was a hands on role that allowed me to gain direct car wash operational experience from the ground floor up. Through this role I was also exposed to the supplier network which has allowed me to understand the current and future technologies available to the industry. I've attended both the Australian and International Car Wash Convention at which all these technologies and suppliers are on show.I've been heavily involved at the industry level in water access negotiations with east coast State Government Water Authorities during the 2019 drought as well as supporting operators across Australia during the devastating Covid 19 outbreak. I'm constantly monitoring the car wash market for interesting investment opportunities, focusing on finding under valved and/or invested assets across Australia and rebuilding them alongside investment partners. This included 4 operating sites and 2 property within the City of Greater Geraldton. Renard Group holds an direct investment and the operational and asset management rights to these entities. In early 2022 we raised our second round of private equity (again with the support of Moore Australia Corporate Finance team) to purchase two carwash businesses and two associated properties in Albany WA. Renard holds the management rights for the complete operation and asset management of this investment.Through a private IM helped raise >$3.5M from sophisticated investors in 2016 to purchase a property and carwash in Bunbury, WA. Set up administration, OH&S, and business systems to support the business to run independently. Responsible for banking and financial reporting. Divested this asset in Jan 2022.I moved to Perth, WA in early 2019 to allow our children to finish and round out their high school education in a Metro school environment. Show less
