I am responsible for leading the engineering and IT operations areas of Technology, overseeing all technical initiatives, infrastructure, and resources to ensure seamless operations and optimal performance. My role involves developing and executing strategic plans to enhance IT capabilities, streamline processes, and align technology initiatives with business objectives. I specialize in implementing best practices in project management, agile methodologies, and IT service management to drive efficiency and productivity across the organization. I am dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering and IT teams to drive excellence and achieve operational goals ensuring best of breed customer and user experience. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential in identifying opportunities for technology optimization, automation, and digital transformation initiatives. Additionally, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and evaluating third-party solutions are crucial aspects of my role to support business requirements and drive cost-effective IT operations. Finally, providing leadership and mentorship to a diverse team of engineers, IT professionals, and support staff is integral to fostering their professional development and career growth.

As head of IT development I am responsible for all application components of the Motorpoint ecosystem. Reporting into the CTO I have designed and facilitated the implementation of a Micro service and Micro application architecture. This architectural shift has enabled enhanced performance and stability enhancements across all business units.A PCI compliant platform has been conceived and launched that allows for a the full vehicle sales process to be completed with seamless integration into legacy backend systems.As part of my role I work closely with all members of the Motorpoint Senior Leadership team to ensure that Applications and IT capabilities are delivering maximum value. To do this requires both the ability to plan and design 3-5 years into the future whilst understanding the key performance indicators required to successfully run a high traffic eco system on a day to day basis.

Heading up the web development team I am responsible for all public facing entities for Motorpoint, the main focus being motorpoint.co.uk. Averaging approx. 750,000 unique users p/m and 10 million page views stability and performance are key factors that have driven large amounts of change throughout the Motorpoint eco system. I work closely with many business areas at all levels of seniority and technical expertise to ensure that projects are delivered both efficiently and accurately.

Reporting to the Head of Technology I lead a team of 7 backend developers I was responsible for the delivery of the middle tier of the Harrods.com platform. This involved the close working relationship with the front end development teams as well as the various suppliers both internal and external that provide numerous stock and payment feeds to the website.

Responsible for all IT delivery for the Insolvency Management business line from initial requirements analysis through development and into support. Reporting directly to the Head of European Delivery and TDX CIO in a matrix organisation I work closely with the product and finance teams to ensure that strategic initiatives are delivered on budget and on time. Achievements and responsibilities in my current role include:• Establish a brand new team to TIX development capable of meeting IS027001 standards• Fully embed SCRUM process into both development and surrounding business units• Established in building software that helped to achieve ISO9001 accreditation for TDX• Management of budget for capitalisation and operational expense of IT teams• Ensuring platform architecture is in line with corporate standards• User experience and design including usability testing• Technical owner of the development platforms ensuring maximum quality and efficiency• Resource planning and deployment ensuring delivery throughput without sacrificing quality• Working closely with IT PMO and BPMO to schedule and plan project timelines• Hands on technical delivery• Created a team ethos that quality and the end user experience is paramount to all deliveries

Overseeing all development within TDX, my team comprises of 3 teams of developers working across the complete TDX product suite. My three teams are spread across both product and professional services development and so have a number of very different challenges. My time is spent liaising between the head of professional services and the head of application development to ensure that the required throughput is being maintained in a sustainable manner from the teams. Working mainly on the PLATO platform which has managed over £42 billion of debt for clients’ development is in a challenging position of ensuring quality and growth capabilities of the platforms whilst still delivering in timescales that allow for rapid deployments for faster revenue realisation.

Responsible for three major areas of the flagship product called PLATO. Dealing with and reducing system incidents, bespoke client requests and the take on of new clients into the system. In my day to day role I have to work with various areas of the business from the very technical architecture team to the non-technical business owners and senior members of the company. I have also been using my SCRUM experience to help streamline the development and test process within the company allowing for more efficient development of all of the TDX products without sacrificing quality.

My main responsibility in this role is the management, development and maintenance of the on-line booking system. Managing a team of permanent developers which is complimented with contract resource where business demands dictate. Key tasks in my role are:• Booking conversion rate analysis.• Customer behaviour profiling.• User experience and design.• System Architecture.• Project management (SCRUM).• Resource planning.• Supplier management.• Support of business activities.• Release management.• Team member development.• System cost management.I am also responsible for the in house user tracking system which gives real time user profiling capabilities allowing for key business decisions to be made based on user behaviour.
