An engineer, innovator and entrepreneur, I run an award winning, fast-growing family business, Origin, which designs, develops and manufactures the 'Origin Home' range of bespoke aluminium bi-folding doors, windows and electric roller blinds. Having designed the doors, I established the business in the UK in 2001, since then it has grown rapidly so that today it has a turnover of £40 million, employs over 260 people and has operations in Dubai and now the US, where I am now based. Although I’m focused on developing the company globally – we have a state of-the-art manufacturing facilities in both the UK and the USA – I’m still heavily involved in product development. For me innovation isn't just about major breakthroughs, it's also the little details that matter - that's why I've focused on creating new smoother rolling systems for the doors, and additional security features. I’m also really passionate about manufacturing innovation – for instance the production system we have set up means we are the only door and window company in the world which can offer next day delivery for a bespoke manufactured product. As a result I've won the prestigious EEF South East Region Innovative Operating Practices Award, was shortlisted for the National Business Awards and recently was awarded a silver in the International Business Awards.
