I work for Oxford Innovation where for 35+ years our mission has been to help local economies and places flourish by supporting entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. We do this by providing SMEs with three crucial services – space to innovate and collaborate, business advice, and access to finance for growth.As part of the management board at Oxford Innovation Space (which is the UK’s leading provider of innovation spaces), we design and create dynamic communities of SMEs within outstanding flexible spaces. The spaces that we manage enable the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship, by fostering collaboration, encouraging talent, and providing support to the SME community.We support the growth of early business stages through flexible workspace (office, workshop or laboratory) and via a network of Business Support Specialists (Innovation Directors & Business Growth Managers) providing business growth information and guidance to help businesses reach their full potential. As Business Support Director, my goal is to provide high calibre business support, coaching and mentoring to Oxford Innovation Space customers, engage with local networks and eco-systems plus animate our innovation centres through events and programmes.
