This business flourished under my operational leadership to quickly gain success and become Aberdeen’s leading funeral business and one of Scotland largest independents. I was solely involved in the transformational marketing strategy over the pre-need market which coincided with the business winning local and national awards over a number of consecutive years. As my reputation grew within the funeral industry, a number of suitors enquired about my availability. I joined Co-op Funeralcare in Aberdeen as the Manager, overseeing 7 sites. One of my first tasks was to transform the reputation, steady the decline in volumes and staff disengagement and to transform the business operationally keeping within the parameters of a national business.I once again exceeded all operational and strategic goals as Aberdeen became the best performing area in the national network. Aberdeen gained market share on all measurable levels year on year and soon become the funeral director of choice in Aberdeen. During this time a number of initiatives introduced by myself became best practice for Coop Funeralcare this coincided with me gaining more responsibility and being appointed acting Regional Manager which involved the merging of Aberdeen with the Angus region. I continued to grow the business by identifying new markets, being an innovative leader & project managing a number of new branch openings, all which proved successful from the offset. I was confirmed in to the Regional Manager position for the North East Scotland where his geographically area of responsibility covered from Aberdeen to Kirkcaldy. During his time as Regional Manager, I again implemented operational & marketing strategies using strategic innovation programmes which seen the North of Scotland reverse the national trend of a declining market share against a challenging market along with high colleague engagement.
