After leaving High School to follow my childhood dream of being a professional footballer I have been fortunate enough to play for my Country, the team I supported as a boy, in every Scottish Division and a couple in North America and Northern Ireland. These days I prefer to watch from the stands, but find I am often asked to talk to current players about my experience of franchising as a successful follow on career option.

I was succesfully involved with the set up and administration of the PFA Scotland Education and Training Trust, thus enabling and empowering in excess of 1,000 of their members prepare for their future.This involved, often complex, partnerniship working with mutiple stakeholdeers including Eurpoean Social Funding (ESF Objective 3), Scottish Union Learning.
Tasked with working collaboratively with 13 target sports and associated governing bodies to produce an accreditation system for grassroots level clubs and volunteers was always going to be a challenge, but one I was delighted to grasp.The resulting "Clubmark" has since helped provide guidance, funding and opprtunities for hundreds of clubs and thousands.
Coordinated and ran a comprehensive network of school and after school coaching, development and education classes throughout Stirling, Flakirk and Clackmananshire. I was also responsible for all training and coach education courses delivered on behalf of the SFA in this region.I still hold the UEFA Coaching Qualifications of UEFA 'B' Licence, UEFA.
