DRM is the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) interface with all UK employers striking and nurturing working relationships which benefit both the employer, Defence People and the wider Armed Forces community. We deliver the employer strand of the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) and the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). Accountable to the Secretary of State for Defence for the delivery of the UK Defence sector Employer Engagement programme. Key outputs are: Professional Placements of Armed Forces personnel into Industry; Communications & Events in support of the AFC and ERS programmes; Research gathering to drive an intelligence led operation; the Relationship Management and Stakeholder Engagement of 6,500 UK businesses (including 75% of the FTSE 100).

Full responsibility for the annual (£Ms) operating budget and setting of objectives and KPI for stakeholder acquisition, development & retention. Director of UK wide Operations and Infrastructure leading on the delivery of a modern, agile and flexible national recruiting operation valued at £1.4Bn over 10 years. Direct responsibility for:- leading a combined civilian and military workforce of 1,100 employees dispersed across 6 regions.- managing the operational infrastructure comprising 87 x city centre located commercial recruiting branches and 32 mobile recruitment offices.

Responsible for crafting and executing the delivery of short, medium and long term plans designed to maximise the efficiency of operating procedures and the potential of staff. Led on organisational change, transformation and enhancement programmes and delivered manpower efficiency through performance and utilisation modelling. Successfully converted the Project's strategic vision into business outputs to enable the achievement of Regional Operations performance targets and contractual KPI and personally communicated all plans to external and internal stakeholders.

Senior Account Manager responsible for the stakeholder engagement (up to Government Minister level) and concurrent operational delivery and briefing of the Ministry of Defence's and Capita plc's Recruiting Partnership Project into the Army's Reserve Forces.

Deployed operationally leading soldiers all over the world including: Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, UN Mission to South Africa, America, Canada, Poland, Germany, France and the Baltic States. Senior appointments included:- As an Acting Colonel led the UK Defence Advisory Team responsible for mentoring executive leaders (at Brigade Commander level - 10K troops under command) deploying to Iraq & Afghanistan. - Chief of Operations for the selection, training and deployment of Afghanistan National Police Officers within the NATO coalition multinational Headquarters.- Chief of Plans & Training for the British Forces South Atlantic Islands as part of the Permanent Joint HQ mission.- Chief Executive Officer (Commanding Officer) of a Royal Artillery Regiment.- Chief Instructor & Company Commander at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. - Operational lead for Multinational Training Policy within the Army Headquarters.- Operational lead for UK Domestic Resilience Operations; included planning and co-ordinating Defence support to pan-Government agencies during: the Foot & Mouth crisis; continuity Fire Service operations; and Flood Defence operations. - International Liaison Officer at the UK Ministry of Defence in London.
