Hired by a NewCo to project manage the creation of the UK’s first direct recruitment website for the hospitality industry.Responsibilities included: managing the external web design company through the project lifecycle, working with the executives on brand identity and creating the initial marketing and PR launch plans.

The UK’s No.1 online employment law website.Reporting to the executive directors, I was brought in by the new majority investor to project manage a complete redesign and re-launch of the (10,000 page) website, setup a new Edinburgh-based office and create new subscription pricing models and an online advertising strategy to drive revenue growth.

Conceptualised, created and launched the UK's first branded Mexican food takeaway chain.Responsibilities included: growth strategy, financials, HR, marketing and making the occasional burrito.Grew business to 2 outlets, £six-figure turnover in first 18 months, and won the prestigious Shell Livewire UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2001.On a part-time basis from 2003 to 2008, I refined the operational processes, created the franchise manuals, legal agreements and performed marketing activities to transform the mex2go concept into a franchise model. Trade sale of all IP in 2008.

As part of my remit as an executive board member of Capsoft UK, we conceptualised and created Everyform.net - a web based legal and UK Government forms business based on HotDocs software which quickly grew to over 10,000 subscribers in the first 12 months.The business was sold to a UK plc within 18 months of launch.

The first employee/director, I was tasked with launching the US market leading document assembly software - HotDocs - into the UK, specifically targeting the Legal, Banking and Professional Publishing market sectors.Covering UK, Europe and subsequently APAC, I had responsibility for setting and implementing the sales strategy, building out operational, technical and support teams in Edinburgh and London, setting up reseller and publisher channels in Australia, negotiating commercial contracts locally and internationally. During my 3 year tenure, revenue went from £0 to £1m+, 15 of the of the top 30 UK law firms were using HotDocs for production of complex repeat documentation. 3 out of the top 5 professional publishers were licencing HotDocs for use in their electronic subscription products.
