I also worked with academics in the Business School to conduct research drawing on the contact with businesses. Quantitative and qualitative research investigated a range of issues including the role of resource efficiency within business management and the role of property age on climate change mitigation in tourism. From Jan 2011 - Feb 2012 I delivered a major work programme on behalf of the South West Tourism Alliance (the transition structure formed follolwing the closure of the regional tourist board) which focussed on applying a sustainable approach to business operations, transport, visitor communications and natural/cultural 'assets'. I remained an Associate for SustNav in relation to their general work on sustainability solutions.

Responsible for leading work with SWT and external partners to make tourism in SW England more sustainable. In the first three years this work focussed on delivery of a range of initiatives engaging tourism businesses, visitors and destination partners, as well as the internal 'greening' of SWT.
