VetSouth (VetNZ) owns and operates one of the largest networks of veterinarian practices in New Zealand, along with a number of distribution and wholesale pharmaceutical companies in Australasia, taking a leading role in the import and distribution of veterinary pharmaceuticals. The role was primarily concerned with positioning VetSouth for future growth through the implementation of customer focused strategies and brand repositioning work, with a special focus on developing a purpose driven culture and the introduction of the ‘Here For Good’ framework.

Zenitec designs and manufactures a range of diverse products in multiple industries. The Clogger brand provides chainsaw protective clothing to the Arboriculture and Forestry Industries, including specialist fire resistant garments for use in high-risk situations. Harvestwear is New Zealand's leading and largest range of fruit-picking equipment for the Agriculture Industry. Nortec Medical is the home to a range of medical slings for use in care homes and hospitals. With overall responsibility for worldwide sales & marketing strategy, the role lead an expert team of professionals, developing brands and products which are sold throughout Australasia, Europe, North America and Asia. Of particular note was the successful launch of Clogger in North America, quickly establishing the brand as a favourite among arboriculture professionals.

A specialised role focused on the design, development and deployment of systems (including point-of-sale) for all national and international operations of Skyline Enterprises. More specifically, the role was focused on new methods of customer engagement and increasing brand loyalty through the development of a customer centric framework which incorporated digital innovation and customer journey based brand engagement. Other responsibilities included selected digital projects and the marketing of the Totally Tourism portfolio of products (The Helicopter Line, Glacier Helicopters, Challenge Rafting, Harris Mountains Heli-Ski, Mitre Peak Cruises, Milford Sound Scenic Flights, Wanaka Flightseeing & Queenstown Combos).

Skyline Enterprises is home to some of the most well known brands in New Zealand tourism and has interests in: gondola, luge and restaurant properties; aviation (both fixed wing and helicopter); accommodation; casino and entertainment; outdoor adventure activities; property and tourism information centres. Overseas, Skyline has luge operations in Canada, Singapore and South Korea. With sales, marketing and brand management responsibility for all national and international Skyline businesses, the role was focused on attracting, retaining and satisfying over 3 million guests annually. Staff responsibilities included management of the Digital Marketing Team (successfully achieving triple digit growth) as well as the tourism information centre JV operation.

Pacific Horizon Motorhomes was one of the largest family owned motorhome rental companies in New Zealand, operating a fleet of over 300 motorhomes and employing 70 staff across 4 nationwide locations. As a Senior Manager and Board Member my role was to formulate, develop and lead the strategic marketing direction of the company and develop the brand proposition. International distribution was increased and the development of a digital strategy was successful in growing direct business and increasing brand awareness. Staff management responsibilities included the European based representation, Online Management, Optimisation Management and the multiple award winning Contact Centre (Travel & Transport Sector Winner, National CRM Awards 2008, 2009 and 2010. Silver Supreme Winner 2010).

Providing guided walks and heli-hikes on the Franz Josef Glacier, The Guiding Company offered an unbelievable experience in one of New Zealand’s most stunning locations. Key work undertaken included a full re-brand of the company, shifting the brand message and communicating a more defined product. Along with the introduction of a new channel management and marketing strategy, the re-brand was met with success and resulted in revenue growth of over 20%. The role also included staff responsibility for customer service personnel and the expanded retail outlet.

Enterprise Rent-a-Car is the world’s largest car rental company with over 95,000 employees, 1.9 million vehicles in the fleet and revenue of over US$20 billion (making it one of the largest privately held companies in the United States). My time with Enterprise started on their Graduate Management Training Programme and was followed by rapid promotion and Management positions at various locations in East Anglia. This included management of the Norwich branch, which under my management grew to become Europe’s largest branch (by fleet number). With responsibility for 25 staff and all facets of the business, Enterprise provided invaluable general management experience.
