•Led a team in the conceptual design and construction of an aerobatic bi-plane capable of 3D flight, 7gs of loading, a 420 degrees per second roll rate, and a 200 foot take off•Designed from the ground up, creating trade studies to make decisions for design options like prop size, airfoil, tail length, and wing sizing.•Conducted multiple tests using high speed wind tunnels and stress and strain gauges in DataStudio to test the static thrust of the propeller, the durability of the wing and fuselage, and drag on the wing•Used MATLAB to write a program to conduct a finite element analysis for the fuselage structure, create detailed plots of thrust vs drag, and to confirm the results of our stability and controls•Created 3D a model of the aircraft and its individual parts in SolidWorks and Inventor•Created and presented weekly professional memos on our progress along with an extremely in depth technical bi-annual report covering all steps and results in our process
