Reporting, editing and management positions. Founded the Computer Assisted Reporting team in 1993. Won the Goldsmith Prize in Investigative Reporting from Harvard in 1993 for a deep look at nonprofits. Same series was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize. Extensive experience covering decennial censuses. Joined the paper in 1983 to cover the break-up of AT&T and the Bell System. To get business-side experience in strategic planning, also served as assistant circulation director for two years in the late 1980s.
