Responsible for consolidated reporting to the Board, business unit and Group treasury management, banking relationships and covenant management. Overall responsibility for the production of group ‘glossy’ statutory accounts, group budgets and forecasts, the group insurance programme, corporation tax and the application of internal controls throughout the group. Member of the Audit Committee, IFRS Project Leader and member the Finance Committee. In addition I also have financial responsibility for the £250m turnover milk brokering business which operates out of our Nantwich offices.

Employed by Enterprise plc, £400m turnover AIM listed group providing utility services. Reported directly to the Group Finance Director.Led the acquisition team in the purchase of a £100m business by the group including due diligence, Agreement of Completion Accounts and application of Fair Value Adjustments.Managed integration of the newly acquired subsidiary into the group including process and systems changes, restructuring and staff changes and standardisation of reporting procedures and internal controls.Negotiated and completed on the disposal of a non-core element of the newly acquired business.

Employed within £350m turnover division of FTSE 250 Group consisting primarily of major capital infrastructure projects within civil engineering and special projects.Led selection process and negotiated purchase of new £2m accounting and contract costing system on behalf of the entire plc group.Led integrated team dealing with testing, configuring and installation of new software representing finance end users throughout capital projects – 400 users.Provided national reference point to Divisional Board in respect of business acquisitions and investment opportunities in developer lead schemes for the businesses.

£150m turnover subsidiary of Alfred McAlpine plc operating within the Capital Projects Division of the group covering Scotland to Cornwall on the Western side of the UK. Responsible for five head office departments consisting of over 20 staff. Overall responsibility for divisional profit reporting and forecasting including monitoring and assessing the risks and opportunities by contract in conjunction with local management teams. Also responsible for Business Unit input into Central and Local Governments Private Finance Initiative opportunities nationwide taking a strategic lead in both selection and financial modelling.Worked closely with the Managing Director in shaping the strategic direction of the business overseeing growth in turnover over a five year period from £100m to £150m resulting in the business becoming the most profitable part of the Group.Negotiated and managed the acquisition and integration of a street lighting company as a development of our facilities management arm including due diligence and financial close.Undertook role as Interim Managing Director of this newly acquired subsidiary, introducing Group systems and reporting procedures in order to integrate the business into the Group.Led the implementation of a new interfaced 300 user site based Contract Costing System reducing reconciliation processes and engendering a sense of cost ownership at contract level.Introduced a Balanced Scorecard covering financial and none financial KPIs leading to an improved understanding of the main business drivers by the local Board.Managed the outsourcing of the Payroll function covering 1000 monthly and 850 weekly paid employees reducing risk to the business of dependency upon a limited number of key personnel.

£30m turnover house building subsidiary of Alfred McAlpine plc operating throughout the North West. Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly budgets, monthly reports and statutory accounts together with cash monitoring and both short and medium term cash forecasting.Project managed the selection, evaluation and implementation of a new accounting system which was installed throughout the eight regional business units of the Homes Division of the Group.
