Lead Vdi ConsultantNjm Consultancy Limited May 2013 - Aug 2016Working as a Lead Consultant on various projects during the delivery of a £50 million VDI solution for a major financial organisation. I had overall technical responsibility of delivering the solution to the customer and I performed the role of technical lead. I provided weekly reports to the project managers, attended enterprise architectural review sessions to ensure we were adhering to the company’s architectural standards, and produced architectural and technical configuration documentation.The projects I was responsible for delivering or involved in were:1) Implementation of 2 x Cisco UCS FlexPod's to deliver a VDI Environment capable of delivering c8000 Virtual Desktops across 2 x Data Centers. My team delivered the infrastructure which contained over 200 Servers running Citrix XenDesktop, Hyper-V, AppSense, Citrix NetScaler and Citrix Web Interface Servers. We were also responsible for producing build documentation and handing the environment over into support. 2) Design and Implementation of a VDI Desktop to meet the customer requirements. We were responsible for the end to end delivery to the customer which included creation of the build using SCCM and Hyper-V, creation of the VDI Desktops using SCVMM and assignment to the end users using Citrix XenDesktop3) Design and Implementation of a ThinPC solution to meet the customer requirements. The customer required a ThinPC solution for which they needed to convert from a standard desktop to a ThinPC solution when required. We designed a solution using Windows Embedded edition and locked down the desktop. We also implemented a custom web interface solution.4) Rolling out Office 365 to the Citrix estate. This involves deploying Office 365 to a XenApp 7.6 farm and XenDesktop persistent and non-persistent images comprising of around 2500 users in total5) Migration of Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 to XenApp 7.6 environment for approximately 130 servers and 2000 users -
