Working within the Phoenix Group I've had an abundance of project management and delivery experience, whilst navigating an ever-changing, complex work environment caused by multiple mergers and acquisitions activity during my time at (formerly Standard Life) Phoenix Group.In my 5 years as a Project Manager, I delivered numerous projects for various parts of the business, including Operational IT/Service Operations, Finance, Regulatory, Customer Operations and Business Change Services.Many projects were particularly high profile, for example a finance project successfully delivered in 2020 which successfully implemented financial processes/calculations to source systems which allowed the company to release £250m of liquidity via 'unit matching' by extracting up front capital from expected future annual management charges within unit linked funds, thus firming up the solvency position and enabling dividend payments company-wide during the height of the pandemic. Towards the end of my tenure with Phoenix I was managing a project working with Deloitte as an OSP to implement robotic technology into Customer Operations processes, which has enabled resource capacity creation within the operation of Phoenix and allowing Customer Ops agents to focus their time on higher priority activities, providing significant business value and savings.

Slater's taught me crucial lessons about various aspects of the retail business including customer service, stock ordering, inter-branch communication and organisation, aspects of print and digital marketing and transferable sales techniques. Slaters is famous for it's customer service focused business model. The job taught me how to communicate effectively with people, handle multiple inquiries/issues at once, and how to coordinate smooth inter-departmental communication which is crucial in any organisation.
