Develop and implement Common Core based curriculum alongside a co-teacher for students in East Harlem who have been in middle schools that were under threat of and/or closing. Lesson plans, daily activities, and assessments were differentiated in order to engage all 5 inclusion classes consisting of populations of 20-30 students each. Data and information regarding to specialized caseloads of over a dozen special education students were actively collected and monitored in order to write proper IEPs to be presented during official meetings with district representatives, students, and parents. Implement strategies compliant with the IEPs of approximately 40% of the student population. Use Capturing Kids' Hearts strategies to create a positive and healthy classroom/school culture. Reach out to inform parents/guardians of student progress and, where necessary, develop strategies for academic and/or behavioral improvement. Participation in after school activities and/or extra help programs that accumulated at least 2 hours outside of regular hours were also required (Coaching soccer team). Development and implementation of curricular programs in the form of project based learning. Chaperoning college visitation trips both in and out of state. Attend and/or administer at least 40 hours’ worth of professional development seminars both in house and through external sources.

Provide individualized instruction for Autistic and Learning Disabled students in classes often containing multiple grade and functional ability levels. Collaborate with counselors and related services to ensure a productive and healthy environment was provided and maintained. Develop and utilize rubrics designed to gauge student progress. Develop social skills and emotional stability of students in order to maintain a healthy learning environment. Develop and implement parallel teaching strategies that were based on grade level and/or student synergy. Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies to prevent and de-escalate behavioral outbursts. Facilitate peer mediation conflict resolutions. Work with parents and relatives of students in order to make each school day as productive as possible.
