About Neil Parry
I relate to people of all ages. With three grown up children, eight grandchildren, two young boys. One destined to be a professional footballer with the right attitude, aptitude for learning and determination to succeed. With a twist of my life story ready to be published and a dream to turn it into a film with publishers sure to be keen. My recent diagnosis of bulbar MND will only inspire me to write another novel, the sequel to ‘I Never Told You’ but don’t write me off being a Football Agent within 5 years. A colleague once stated "Forget Rhonda Byrne, you are the Secret." Intrigued I read the first few pages of the book and swiftly realized it is the way I have approached my life for as long as I can remember.Like many I have had my fair share of disappointment and tragedy in my life, with many bumps to pride. It is how I have faced it all and bounced back that I want my young children and extended family to remember as my legacy. Above all it is important to learn from mistakes and go again, never be afraid to take a risk otherwise you will never be successful. Work wise I see myself branching away from the sharp end of our business. Having tried Influencing others to achieve via Area Management as I consistently think out of the box to get results and inspire others to achieve. I have unique idea's that regularly work or surface in various forms years down the line which prove successful and can adapt my approach to any given situation. My illness may have cut off my communication lines, but my writing flows efficiently. I have a history of developing people, many on to greater things, prefer not to list my roles and responsibilities over the years in absolute detail as I can point and make reference to successes in my career that I am proud of and ones my colleagues are amazed by and take inspiration from and remember for the rest of their lives.I believe tasks are confusing and not comparable to true development.I despise the manuals, the statements of how to manage, I look for simplicity in life. A leader gets on with people and is decisive when it matters, that is me in a nutshell. Diversity is at last being welcomed, when many have confused me by attempting to conform with the norm. I am the only Manager/Multi Site Manager in the betting industry to beat GW Plan in every position I have held for 23 straight years. My 11 year old is a Football Academy player with Cambridge United and often plays up a year and is captain leading the team by example and encouragement.

Market Place Manager
After a successful record breaking acquisition of a new format shop I turned round an underperforming marketplace in a competitive environment in under six months. This spring boarded my career, a move to a notoriously difficult market place in Peterborough with high competition, some inexperienced teams and behind plan on all counts had been transformed to ahead of Plan on all counts 7 months later. My secret ? It is belief above all, hard work, commitment and knowledge of the industry, combined with a desire to deliver through people. There is always somebody to learn from or listen to and somebody or something that presents a challenge.I currently am responsible at October 1st 2017 for the Market Place that provides the bottom line profit that ensures our Area Manager Group is leading Moneymaker in the Region.
Area Support To An Area Manager Super Group Of 39 Shops
Completed Evolve training, looking forward to opportunities ahead in the GVV domain. Blended the Ladbrokes and Coral Security, Safety and Risk procedures and undertook Regional Operational Role to drive KPI’s and support colleagues through change. Also involved with aspects of training to newly appointed Shop Managers.Presently leaving my legacy of beating bottom line profit in every role for 23 consecutive years, unprecedented in the industry, by proving Area Support in a top of the Region KPI position, currently 5th in the entire Ladbrokescoral estate.
Shop Manager
To my colleagues my career highlight as a Manager was reaching the final of the 'Racing Post/SIS Betting Shop Manager of the Year Final in 2002.I beg to differ, in 1998 I went to the 'Betting Shop Show' in London, saw a numbers machine and was immediately convinced this little company would make a fortune and change the face of betting shops in this country allowing me to influence my career in a positive fashion with Shop Acquisitions and the destiny of success in my path.If only Victor Chandler had laid me a bet like he did our Ladbrokes table in 2002 at 'odds on' when as the 'jolly' I failed to land the odds! That year I was responsible for one of the most successful Ladbrokes Shop Acquisition's on record. A shop before it's time which resulted in a decade of consistently beating targets and winning incentive campaigns that ended with the proud accolade of being named 'Ladbrokes Shop Team of the Year' in 2011. I firmly believe if your staff are happy they look after your customers, it is how you look after your people that is the key to success.I then tested my myself in Cambridge with shops that needed business improvement and Huntingdon, a new Acquisition, with the same results in changing fortunes and beating targets and motivating teams to again win incentive campaigns.with banter, unparalleled Customer Service and team fun in my shops. I am proud of my achievements as a Shop Manager. I exceeded Gross Win Plan every year, generated highly motivated teams and was the thorn in the side of all competition on the High Street.
High Grade 'Clerical Operations Officer’
Three successful promotions led me to preparing freight trains via a specialist computer network to safely project to destinations from the biggest marshaling yard in Europe. Land was sold in 1991 to the home office as the famous 'Whitemoor Prison' was built in the bowl of the railway line. In 1994, it wasn't the shock of it's first inmate breakout that forced me to turn down the offer of an upward transfer to Stratford, London, it was fate, my time to pursue a dream of working in the Racing Industry. How ironic it seems when I remember my first bet during a lunchtime visit to March Ladbrokes in 1981.That 'Big White Blaze' had me hooked all the way up the straight at Epsom. The 'Superman' of horses that never saw past the September of that year. My knowledge of the form book has never deserted me since. Sport has played a huge part in my life and to combine this passion with my work is why I love this business and rise to challenges ahead.
Trainee Accountant
It was when I first managed the accounts and began to audit the books of Wisbech Greyhound Stadium that my thoughts of a future career in the betting industry began to take shape.Whilst the aptitude for figures and bottom line has never deserted me I simply couldn't see myself enjoying a career in accounting. I needed to influence people, teams, to achieve and beat targets, not report and analyse. My outgoing personality would have more suited the 'Sports Journalist' path I intended to follow when leaving school, had I stayed close to London where I was born and raised I am certain Fleet Street would have been my destination.
