As Analyst, my responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, due diligence on the business and markets of operation, helping refine pitch and value proposition, in addition to ensuring suitability for investors. I work with many of our client companies to build business forecasting and tracking models, and provide ongoing analysis to the executive team.

As a partner at Impact Consulting Group, I ran a consulting firm with four partners; managing business development, payroll, marketing, and project delivery. Several project examples include:- Built a financial model for a auction start-up and online retail site and supported the development of a pitch presentation to raise funds for growth and technology development- Developed and launched pilots of a medical loyalty program for a national dental and medical group, conducting interviews, patient surveys, competitor and best-practice analysis- Created a shipping rate model for an international steel shipping company which improved variability on average rate prediction accuracy by over 50% and allowed the client to better explain rate contracts to partners- Researched the history of Venture Capital in Canada and the USA, interviewing key industry leaders across VC, Stock Exchanges, and Angel Investing, resulting in a published chapter in the book by Professor Joe Martin

Provided strategic consulting to CCLEAr (www.cclear.org) an agri-business incubator. The specific challenge in CCLEAr was to assist with the organisational structure, the design and implementation of business systems, the design and implementation of recruitment and training of incubatees. There was also the need to mentor the CEO (a PhD from livestock research) in the management of a commercial business.

While a Senior Consultant with SECOR/KPMG, my area of expertise was ambiguity. I worked closely with international subject-matter experts to develop scenario planning methodology to help companies clarify future uncertainties and build responsive, adaptable strategies – including helping pulp & paper companies pivot to add alternative energy production to their operations.I also worked closely with clients on their most pressing strategic issues, including expansion opportunities, M&A activity, new market entry, and internal cost optimization.
