Working for an NGO promoting the business opportunities, culture and political stance of Azerbaijan on a pan-European level. My role included:• Complete responsibility for writing, editing and proof-reading a monthly publication on Azerbaijani politics, business and culture, distributed to all MEPs, MPs, members of the French and Belgian Senates, and German Bundestag, amongst others• Spokesperson on Azerbaijani state television• Reporter on events and conferences in the UK Parliament, UN Office in Geneva, French and Belgian Senates, NATO and the Council of Europe• Interviewing and reporting on a pan-European level• Interviewing on camera for the web• Writing, editing and commissioning features• Sub- and copy-editing• Research• French to English written translations• Speech-writing for high-level events• Writing and issuing press releases• Company representation• Event publicity and organisation• Daily monitoring of news from news aggregation site.

An international trade magazine for the packaging industry. Published 10 times a year, the magazine has a readership of 15,000.

This international business-to-business magazine for the confectionery industry is published monthly, with a readership of more than 6000 in over 60 countries. My role included:• Initial reporting and interviewing• Initial contact with potential contributors• Writing, sub- and copy-editingIn this role, I managed every element of the writing and print production process, including constant liaison with the advertising manager, graphic designer and printers. Attention to detail was a necessity, together with application of house style and use of industry-specific terminology. Adherence to deadlines was an integral aspect of the position.

This journal is published by The Concrete Society, a member-based organisation, the purpose of which is to promote best practice and innovation in the use of concrete as a construction material. The magazine was first published in 1967 and is issued ten times a year. I undertook a great deal of reporting, sub-editing and proof-reading, developing many of the skills utilised in my subsequent positions.
