- Headed the technical team responsible for the design, development, scale-up, launch and support of the entire Digitus product line that provides physical access security solutions for data centers and high security enclosures worldwide.- Responsible for all software development specifically DAS-SQL (coded in C#) which is Digitus’s SQL server-based client-server application software that allows the configuration, monitor, and control of Digitus networked access-control devices. Maintained and created API’s that facilitated a software interface between 3rd party software and DAS-SQL.- Designed several new products for Digitus that allowed multi-factor authentication at the cabinet level using a combination of pin, biometric fingerprint, or RFID card. These new devices also interface directly with 3rd party panels increasing versatility which expanded the market-share. - Liaison with security companies including Lenel and AMAG to provide a more seamless integration between 3rd party hardware and software and the Digitus solution.

- Solely responsible for the firmware (coded in C) for the flagship products in an RTOS environment. Implemented custom bootloaders for all products.- Heavily involved in the hardware design of all new products.- Worked closely with Contract Manufacturers to ramp up production at 3 different sites.- Liaison with HID to design new modules with extremely small footprints that would function in a difficult environment for RFID to create new wireless card reader products to add to the Digitus Product line.- Interfaced with corporations Crossmatch and Suprema to create Digitus offerings that utilize biometrics.

- Lead Embedded Software Engineer for the company’s flagship military products. Responsible for the design, debug, boot-loader, and support of the embedded code for the PLCM-828 (programmable load control modules with CAN bus communication) to be used by General Dynamics in the Stryker Modernization program and the ECP of the M1A2 Abrams tank upgrades. Performed duties as a liaison to General Dynamics to facilitate integration of this product. - Lead Embedded Software Engineer for all biometric applications. Liaison to Digitus Biometrics, Inc. and headed all efforts to redesign their product line. Involved with the Digitus team to satisfy new requirements to distribute power and communication among hardware modules in data center cabinets to collect authentication and access data from users and control locking devices.- Lead Engineer for the Wireless Storm Shelter product. Implemented a design that utilized multiple devices that communicated over a wireless link to control AC power generators. - Responsible for the support and coding for the controlling Windows software for the ADL (Ammo Data Link) project for General Dynamics Firepower Systems.

- Lead Engineer for the FERO project that utilized a custom PCI card design to support LIGOS software. Responsible for the FPGA/CPLD designs, device driver development, and application programming interfaces. Developed code for the FPGA’s and CPLD’s in VHDL using Xilinx ISE design tools. Tested and optimized the FPGA design using Modelsim simulator. Utilized the Chipscope Analyzer tool by Xilinx to debug and monitor the FPGA in-circuit. Developed an API for these designs as a DLL coded in C and C++ and compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio.- Lead Engineer for the ETV (Enhanced TV) element of the MediaRig Mosaic project. Developed code in C and C++ that generated EBIF (Enhanced Binary Interchange Format) data and multiplexed it into a transport stream. This data was then decoded by the cable set-top boxes to allow interactive services to be implemented in conjunction with the video programming.

- Responsible for the development of GoMotion Edit SDK. Developed code in C++ that enabled third-party application developers to “copy and paste” video and audio frames into a target stream. - Coded and maintained embedded C Code on Teralogic’s Cougar DTV Development Platform that decoded MPEG4 and MPEG2 streams.- Ported and optimized C, C++, and assembly code from Windows environment to Red Hat Linux. The ported code encoded / decoded raw video and audio data and MPEG2 files.

- Responsible for proving the concept of the design of the PRP (Pattern Recognition Processor). This microchip, designed and patented by IDS, used CCD and CMOS technology to perform motion estimation. Personally assisted in design and test of low-level PRP circuits using TANNER and ICAP microcircuit design and simulation tools. Designed electronic cards in Protel with a PCI bus that allowed PRP implementation and functional testing. Developed software in VHDL for Cypress CPLD’s on self-designed board. Maintained and modified the device driver that controlled communication between the PRP implementation board and personal computer software.

- Responsible for the design and testing of electronic cards in high-end network laser printers that produced more than half of Lexmark’s revenue. Developed software applications and embedded code to provide full functional testing of printer controller cards and peripherals. Provided on-call 24 hour / 7 days a week support for these self-designed test systems for ECAT (Electronic Card Assembly and Test).- Responsible for test strategy development, card assembly process design, and failure analysis of the components. Incorporated Lexmark’s first robotic vision tester on the ECAT line.
