• Responsible for a $2.7M Hosting and Operations budget• Oversaw the RFP for COTYs $1M+ site maintenance contract• Designed, built, and staffed a service desk capability to manage website launches, updates, decommissions, and change requests for COTYs 70+ Global brands, onboarding and training 14 external digital agencies• Ran the IT team to support Beamlys 210 globally distributed employees• Ran the engineering team managing COTYs 15 AWS accounts, including the performance, availability, and security of COTYs consumer facing websites spanning 120 VPCs, 400+ EC2 instances, and 80+ Databases.

• Lead a team of 8 responsible for everything from monitoring and security to continuous delivery, including over 30 shared systems & libraries, enabling our engineering teams to ship code to production quickly and repeatably and ensuring that it's automatically scaled and comprehensively monitored.• Overhauled our continuous deployment platform to reduce commit to live time down from 48 to 2 hours and increasing deployments per day from ~5 to 50+• Re-architected our monitoring platform to deliver a fast, robust and scalable stack capable of supporting our 80+ services across 1000 instances. Implemented centralised logging using Elasticsearch, Flume, and Kibana. Replaced metrics collection based on Graphite and CollectD solution with a queue based collection service based on Sensu/RabbitMQ, Graphite, and Grafana to track 200k metrics a minute in real time.• Responsible for the conversion of 80+ services to AWS autoscaling, re-architecting our deployment process and ensuring seamless integration in to our CD pipelines. Wrote an automation framework to handle deployment and AMI validation, built an autoscale aware based mid-tier load balancer based on HAproxy, authored documentation and training for the entire engineering team• Slashed our Amazon expenditure by over 80% over a period of 12 months. Installed Netflix ICE, modelled and invested in reserved instances, wrote a series of tools to more deeply analyse and track our AWS usage, and converted non-production environments to use spot pricing• Overhauled our security architecture by implementing centralised key based authentication using OpenLDAP and application single Sign On via OneLogin. Moved all engineering teams to use IAM logins for AWS with two factor authentication. Implemented a constantly running security audit framework to provide automated warnings when security exceptions were detected. Designed our VPC network architecture and implemented OpenVPN for access to cloud based resources.

• Travelled to the US to assist with the set up of the New York Office handling everything from hiring to getting the floors varnished. Technical point of contact for our US partners throughout our successful US launch.• Responsible for all aspects of Office IT: Ripped & replaced all network infrastructure to rectify stability issues and ensure all ports in the office were active. Installed a 1Gb backbone, replaced the office Wireless Infrastructure, and installed OSX server to provide IOS and App store caching for our 200+ Apple devices and allow us to quickly flash our Mac fleet with a default pre-configured Beamly image saving hours a month
