1 for Valor is a non-profit focused on helping homeless veterans find free housing and aid their journey back to a normal life. I strongly believe that solving the basic need of shelter will significantly help our struggling veterans stabilize their lives, find peace, secure jobs, and move forward with their lives. I am not a veteran. I am an entrepreneur, a dreamer, a son, a brother, a friend. But I am all of these things on the shoulders of those who fought tyranny, protected liberty, stood for our Constitution, and made every American life possible. 1 for Valor seeks to encourage property owners to give away 1 unit for valor - just 1 apartment or even 1 room for a homeless veteran. Our mission is "Finding Homes For Those Who Fought For Ours". Although federal housing benefits through affordable housing programs are in place, 1forValor will never seek federal funding for landlords - the program is entirely voluntary and 100% charitable. The homeless veterans we help will not be required to pay rent, and landlords who participate will do so out of the goodness of their heart. I am organizing this non-profit now, and the first 1 for Valor home will be in my community (Golden Valley Luxury Apartments). I hope to place at least one more veteran in a 1 for Valor Partner Home before Christmas 2013. Appointed by Honorable Mayor Harvey Hall as the youngest serving member of the Board. Redevelopment is one of California's most effective ways to breathe new life into deteriorated and blighted areas plagued by a variety of social, physical, environmental, and economic conditions.Under the California Community Redevelopment Law, our agency is one of the last available processes which has the authority, scope, and financial means to provide the necessary stimulus to reverse deteriorating trends, remedy blight, and create a new image for many communities. It is my high honor to be appointed to the Board, and I have pledged to focus on in-fill development and the preservation of historic areas.

Astronot was a startup Mens Casual Fashion brand based in Los Angeles, CA. A partnership with my sister, Sufi, this was a brand launched out of the creativity and common vision we shared for LA's fashion-forward culture. Astronot had the high honor of officially launching at Ron Herman Melrose, the major store at Fred Segal Melrose. We sold Season I and Season II to Ron Herman, and received an order from the highly sought American Rag Cie as well. Couture boutiques throughout Los Angeles, as well as San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Boston carried Astronot in 2010. Our brand mission was "Limited Edition | Endless Love" - and this 8-month project was a short, highly intensive creative journey for both of us. Sufi and I crafted our t-shirts from custom specifications, learning and exploring manufacturing and printing methods. We built a story around each Season, and dyed highly specific Pantones for each garment. We are extremely pleased to have received attention from such amazing names as Ron Herman, American Rag, Wasteland, El Mercado, and Bodega. We closed Astronot in late 2010. Sufi has since gone on to be a leader in fashion design and merchandising, and is interested in interior design and architecture now.

Design, construct, and stabilize a 332-unit Class A multi-family asset in Bakersfield, CA. Over 20 acres of manicured facilities, with garden/low-rise buildings that compliment the style of the Central Valley. Promotion of energy efficiency and environment-adapted design features community-wide. Design and implementation of a central park within this gated enclave, offering an ample green space and recreational opportunity to over one thousand residents. Coordination with local agencies for street improvements, law enforcement and community watch programs, and with local schools and other partners for a mutually-beneficial relationship. Creation of an engaged Property Owners Association with adapted By-Laws, and Conditions, Covenants, and Restrictions to manage the Community Facilities.
