About Neil Stechschulte
I am currently the City Administrator for the City of Monona, Wisconsin. Since July of 2023, I successfully worked with Councill to adopt a zero increase budget, successfully completed negotiations with both local 311 and WPPA unions, worked with administrative staff and consultant team to complete a compensation plan, completed a compensation study, evaluated new positions to be considered completed RFP selections for City Assessor and an architect for design and construction of a new City Hall facility, and facilitated the completion of the Master Plan for San Damiano property. I was the Community & Economic Development Director for the City of Green Bay, Wisconsin from January 2021 to July 2023. I supervised economic development, building inspection, planning and zoning, community development block grant programs, public housing, historic preservation, and public art. Major projects included creation of a new industrial park, a new hotel, several housing projects, creation and amendment of several TIF districts, and redevelopment planning for a unique housing/destination park/urban farm project.For 14 years, I was the Director of Economic Development for the City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Major projects included coordination of the Westside retail development area, several key redevelopments Downtown, post-incident response to the natural gas explosion in Downtown, expansion of the current industrial park and creation of a new one. I worked for 6 years as a consultant for MSA Professional Services with clients throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. Major projects included redevelopment planning for a closing military base, several EDA grants, legislation for direct project funding, and several comprehensive plans.I currently serve on the Finance Committee and Board of Directors for Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. I have served as Chair for the Northeast YMCA of Dane County Advisory Board, the Dane County CDBG Commission and the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of Dane County.I have served as a Marshal at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open, the 2010 PGA Championship and the 1999 PGA Championship.I've had photos published in Wisconsin Trails Magazine, Madison Magazine, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Isthmus and the University of Wisconsin...including one used in a Super Bowl commercial in 2019.I was named one of the "15 Most Influential People in Greater Madison in July 2016 by In Business Magazine. I was also honored to receive the "Service Above Self" award from the Sun Prairie Rotary Club in 2014.
