As a subject matter generalist I handled issues related to contracts, data privacy, employment, fiduciary obligations, financial services, governance, intellectual property, real estate, and trust and estate matters. I conducted investigations and counseled and trained clients on risk avoidance and implementation of policies and procedures. As a seasoned litigator, I collaborated with business entities and their advisors on how to best resolve their challenges in a competetive environment. I continued to develop experience in all litigation settings including the state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, appellate bodies, arbitration and mediation. My clients consulted with me on how best to avoid litigation knowing that I have tried more than 40 cases to verdict and successfully disposed of many other matters early in the litigation process by way of summary judgment or negotiated settlement. As I became more experienced, the nature of my work evolved giving me the opportunity to become a trusted advisor and counselor of clients on strategy and policy issues. At the time I left Rider Bennett I was counseling and litigating in the areas of contracts, civil rights, data privacy, education law, employment, insurance, real estate, risk avoidance and other matters on behalf of my non-profit, governmental and business clients.
