I am an accessibility professional and expert. I address accessibility from a cultural perspective that goes beyond bare minimum compliance and technical access. I am also a disability activist who has spearheaded and supported accessibility initiatives in academic, student, activist, association spaces, and corporate spaces.I approach my work as a hearing, sighted, physically disabled, neurodivergent, queer, white intersex woman based in the United States born to Polish refugee immigrants. I name all of these intersecting aspects of my identity because these experiences shape my work and as such need to be recognized. I strive to blur the division between what has been deemed professional and personal because creating accessible organizations means recognizing that we as people have a wide range of life experiences that need to be acknowledged for equitable outcomes.I dream of a fully accessible world for all disabled people, people with disabilities, and people with access needs that should have happened yesterday.
