I am a dedicated Mechanical Engineer, researcher and tutor with over 7 years of experience in design, fabrication, and materials development. My expertise lies in sustainable manufacturing, composite materials, and waste recycling innovations. Currently, I am pursuing advanced research on upcycling food waste side streams into high-quality composite materials as part of GeckoCIR, a circular retrofitting for sustainable development project based in Denmark. I am conducting this research at the University of Nairobi in collaboration with the University of Southampton under the CSC scholarship.My career journey has been driven by a passion for sustainability and industrial innovation. I have designed and tested engineering devices, such as a raspador for natural fiber processing, and conducted experiments to characterize the mechanical and physical properties of composite boards derived from industrial food waste. These efforts aim to create green, circular solutions to support industrialization in developing countries. I aspire to be part of a team committed to developing bio-based solutions that contribute to the bioeconomy.I hold a Master's in Applied Mechanics, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, a Diploma in CAD, and a Certificate in Cartography. My long-term ambition is to further explore the integration of emerging technologies, such as AI, into waste recycling to produce high-value composite products. Specifically, I aim to develop an algorithm that predicts the critical physical and mechanical properties of waste-derived boards.
