My role as the Operations Design Engineer was to managing the production workflow and ensuring all production staff adhere to the test, build and inspection procedures. To develop new suppliers and set up procedures to ensure suppliers meet deadlines at quality standards MineARC demands, negotiate pricing and setup contracts with suppliers. To conduct research and development for design improvements on the product range. Drafted business plans, lead and developed strategies that would aid the business in further growth and development, reduce cost and optimize processes to speed up product delivery. Present business plans and budgets to executive members of the global company.

My role as Product Engineer at Flexco is diverse; some of my main objectives were to set up the quality management control system, set up quality documentation for every product range. The quality management control system was a purely electronic system that that allowed a seamless interface between all concerned parties. Develop and modify current products and design custom products to take advantage of needs in the market place. Develop systems and models that gave insight and clarity to key people in the organisation. Some of my major achievements were:  Designed and developed a test facility that can evaluate the stress effects in conveyor belts, this is the first rig of its kind in the world. Designed new products at Flexco that allowed for easy and repeatable installation of products while reducing installation time. Lead the implementation team for BAAN LN, an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. My main duties included handling staff concerns, getting effective training and making sure we were on track to meet deadlines. Setup a training center that will cater primarily to the bulk material handling industry. Design of engaging product stands and a moving conveyor with multiple idler types built into a single frame structure. Managed the project in terms of cost, product delivery and quality.  Design of safety products to address belt lifting to be used underground.  Developed manufacturing capabilities (bending, punching, welding, cutting, electro plating, powder coating) of suppliers to better service the company needs.  Designed jigs to ensure more consistent product manufacturing.  Lead a highly effective team of engineers and quality personnel to achieve improvements in product quality, consistency and manufacturability.
