During my master's, I took and completed the problem-solving course at the University of North Florida, FL. During the course, the six sigma concepts for problem-solving were applied in a real case at a company. In our group, we developed a method for data acquisition to generate data analytics to identify growth opportunities (marketing, program growth, staffing levels) and address inefficiencies in appointment management at Lutheran Social Services. After passing the course exam and presented the results to the company, I was awarded with Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate.

During my bachelor's exchange program at my host university, I was accepted to participate in a research group with master's students focused on aluminum alloys. •Responsible for image and data analysis of various nonferrous alloys.• Co-author of a publication that addressed the effect of solution treatment of A383 alloy die castings.

Exchange program with a full scholarship awarded by CAPES in mechanical engineering at the University of North Florida.

A summer course in Lean manufacturing conducted by The Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Tennessee. The concepts learned in the course were applied in a company for a full hands-on experience.

During my exchange program, I got the opportunity to stay for the summer at The University of Tennessee and take the Lean Enterprise summer project. For industrial experience and to apply the concepts learned in the course in a real case, I got an internship at Xtreme Tower Products (XTP). My goal was to evaluate the production line and improve the lead time of a new product using the Lean concepts.

Industrial research project with a scholarship awarded by CNPq and VALE. This research was focused on the effect of the wind speed on the welds, a common issue at the shipyard. At the welding research group, I was the group leader and responsible for writing the technical reports for the funding company. Our research showed the welding procedure that could withstand the winds without welding defects. This work was published in a journal and presented at a university conference.
