Won contracts at DHS, DHHS, NIH, Air Force, Coast Guard, Energy, State, DoD, Social Security, Federal Reserve, VA, White House, HUD, NIST, and others.CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT -- Led start-up development efforts for two security service companies. Planned development efforts for international non-profit. INTERIM CEO -- Guided start-up of green construction and technology company. Developed $65M sales pipeline of projects in construction, IT services, & water treatment technology. Managed lead generation, proposal process, submission of more than 100 unsolicited proposals.

Created and led dynamic aquisition program for $250M IT products/services company. Directed all M&A processes/activities. Created deal flow targeting candidates in fast-growth verticals. Quickly grew, expanded, and diversified the company. Over 17 months, directed the acquisition of 7 complementary business units increasing annual revenue by $50M. Helped manage the integration and reorganization of all acquired units. New unit profitability averaged well over 20% first year and grew strongly during the ensuing economic downturn.

Nelson merged a company he founded (Skyline Government Services Corporation) into McNeil Technologies (acquired by AECOM for $365M). In various C-level roles, Nelson directed the ensuing high-growth phase taking the company to #65 on Inc Magazine's list of fastest growing companies over a three-year period. Established new business units in management consulting, energy, health, law enforcement, and immigration. Built a world-class language services division that quickly grew into the world’s largest language services company ($5B) supporting US war efforts in Bosnia, Africa, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Nelson guided the transformation of McNeil from 8(a) into into a highly successful “full and open” defense contractor.
