Contractor/Consultant To Cio
A strong understanding of communications technologies and large enterprise information systems with a history of efficiently driving success with domestic and international telecom car-riers led to this engagement. CIO recruited and paired with the IT director to seek, find and real-ize recurring savings opportunities and improved efficiencies. Initial opportunity discovery in-cluded: inbound contact center services with toll free, voice over IP deployment and integration, data center design and carrier colocation. The engagement scope was expanded and consulting hours exceeded 3,000/yr. for the first five years. RFI/RFQ/RFP authoring and process manage-ment including subsequent project plans and leadership for service and billing migrations was completed. Risk analysis, service level agreement language and negotiation, and continuity im-pact forecasting were also provided to the CIO as part of new carrier contract signing. As the cli-ent’s organization morphed to enable expanded business functionality, consultative advisement for definitions of new departmental managers and individual contributors was provided including training of those hired was provided. An manager role was covered to fill gaps in personnel until trained and transitioned. Low level design of network queueing strategies and data center fabric was provided enabling quality of service / quality of experience driven deployment across a spec-trum of layer 1 demarc delivery speeds from 1Mbps to 155Mbps. Additional clients were also provided services; although the first ten years was more than a full-time engagement with the primary client.
