Together we work on goals relating to learning, independence, friendship, and employment. I am passionate about promoting and supporting local artists, so joining City Stage made perfect sense! As a Member of The Board I help decide the direction we want to take, vote on important decisions, and make sure we stay true to our mission statement.I have also appeared on stage once in "A Christmas Carol", which was totally free to the community and included interactive components including; the audience taking on some of the roles, christ carol singing, and the throwing of snowballs at the cast!My duties can range anywhere from actor, front of house representative, photographer, or usher, just to name a few. Often times I am doing some kind of combination! City Stage New West, a not-for-profit society, was originally formed in July of 2005, with the intention of filling the cultural gap left in New Westminster by the closure of the Raymond Burr Theatre.City Stage New West aims to produce professional theatre in New Westminster that entertains, educates, and enlightens while strengthening respect for Canadian diversity. In November of 2021 we made the decision to shut down after over a decade of work.

I have been working on and off with my family's company Ellis Design and General Contracting for around six years.My duties began as simple sweeping and doing site clean up. But over the years I have learned valuable basic skills related to drywall taping, carpentry, insulation instillation, and other general areas related to home renovation. In a day I could be something as simple as cutting insulation pieces and the next I could be mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow for eight hours.With over forty years in construction it's safe to say that my father, Hugh Ellis, has been a valuable teacher. He has taught me how to handle myself on a job site, skills related to home renovation, but most importantly; work ethic and pride in your work.

I helped out with local stories around the New West community with a focus on Queensborough. Lead a team of three other employees over the weekend. I ensure that quotas are met, shipping is handled, the depot is kept clean, and that customers have a positive experience at our depot. Job involves running a till, cleaning tables, keeping the depot organized, time management, leadership, and customer service. I have overseen and run the depot numerous times and had to problem-solve and troubleshoot on my own. Encorp is an Industry Product Stewardship Corporation with a mandate to develop and manage a consumer friendly and cost effective system to recover consumer products and packaging for recycling. In addition to BC's Return-It™ beverage container deposit system, Encorp also provides stewardship services on a contract basis to Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA). All logistics are outsourced to contractors; collection, sorting and packaging containers, transportation and processing.
