Dr. Nelson holds multiple post-graduate certificates from The Colorado School for Family Therapy. Dr. Nelson is a Certified Family Mediator, Unlicensed Psychotherapist, Restorative Justice Facilitator and a former Adjunct Faculty Member at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He is also a former Elder at the Potter's House Church of Denver and currently an Minister at Heritage Christian Center.He owns an insurance company & investment firm. Dr. Nelson has extensive volunteer and community organizing experience. His engagement includes: the CASB Board of Directors, RMSEL Board of Directors, American Legion Post 30, NAACP, APS Board of Education Directors, Denver Mayor's African American Commission, Aurora HRC Commission Bennie E. Goodwin After School Academic Program for youth, League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County and Colorado Prince Hall Foundation for Youth.
