I am an award winning Portuguese author and former journalist, having spent most of my career at Expresso, Portugal’s leading and most respected newspaper, where I became assistant editor of the paper’s magazine. I've also worked for daily newspaper Público, collaborated with TV networks SIC and RTP, and written for several other respected national and international publications, including The Guardian (UK), El Mundo (Spain), The Jerusalem Post (Israel), Galileu and Época (Brazil).I've published hundreds of reports, broke a sexual harassment story involving the former president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, covered the elections that brought Bolsonaro to power in Brazil and interviewed some of the world’s most important personalities, from Al Gore and Anthony Bourdain to Philippe Starck, Renzo Piano, Christian Louboutin, David LaChapelle, Katy Perry, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and many others, including winners of Nobel Prizes, Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, Pulitzers and Pritzkers.My work has received awards by the Portuguese Press Club, Portuguese League Against Cancer, European Best Cancer Reporter Award and National Association of Portuguese Municipalities.I still writes occasionally in newspapers and magazines, but I'm now focused on my career as a writer. After my first book, Filhos da Quimio, in 2018, 4 others followed: Chefs Sem Reservas (2019), Os Homens Também Choram (2021), Chefs Sem Reservas: Segundo Volume (2022) e O Sucesso Está nos Detalhes (2023). I'm also the author of one of the books marking the 150th anniversary of Corticeira Amorim, one of Portugal’s largest industrial groups.My most recent book, O Sucesso Está nos Detalhes (Success is in the details), with the life, leadership and success lessons of 12 national and international leaders, was described as “absolutely fascinating”. “It should be mandatory reading in all management universities” (Nicolau Santos, president of RTP).I believe, perhaps naively, that books will save the world.
